As one of the Eastern Townships’ great humanitarians, Dr. William J. Klinck (1911-2005) lived by the guiding principles of providing for his neighbours and doing God’s work. These values are also at the heart of the institutions he helped found – Grace Christian Home in Huntingville and Connaught Home in North Hatley, now collectively known as Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes.

Over the years, Dr. Klinck provided invaluable leadership and stewardship for these two institutions which endeavour to offer the finest personal care to English-speaking seniors in the Eastern Townships.

Dr. Klinck would have been the first to tell you that he did not do it alone. He, as well as the homes’ many volunteers, staff, and countless supporters have worked tirelessly to create a loving, Christian environment for seniors without the benefit of government funding. But they could not have done it without the generosity of friends, neighbours, and even strangers, who have proven to be answers to prayer during times of need.

Those times of need are ever more frequent and pressing as the senior population continues to grow. As part of its ministry, Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes is honoured to provide care for those who require it, regardless of their ability to cover the full cost. Increasing operating costs at the two facilities themselves are also a challenge.

Contributing to the good work

The creation of the Dr. W. J. Klinck Foundation is an opportunity not only to honour the Christian lifework and ministry of Dr. Klinck, but also to financially support Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes in its ongoing efforts to care for our Eastern Townships neighbours.

Founded in 2004 with the full blessing of Dr. Klinck, this registered foundation provides an opportunity for residents, family members, friends, and corporations to financially support the mission of Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes, whether through donations or bequests.

The creation of this separate fund-raising entity, which will also conduct activities and programs to raise awareness of the two homes, allows the non-profit Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes to remain focused on what it does best – helping seniors enjoy their later years in an extended family of caregivers and friends.

A legacy assured

Your donation to the Dr. W. J. Klinck Foundation will directly support the physical operations of the homes and subsidize the needs of our senior residents. All donations are tax-deductible and receipts will be issued.

Support for the Foundation will ensure that the generosity Dr. Klinck and others demonstrated and counted on through the years will continue to play a key role in the survival of these two very important institutions for the Townships’ English-speaking seniors.
